Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician II for on-site work in Worcester, MA. This full-time role supports physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, prepares rooms, and reprocesses equipment.

Qualified candidates have at least two years of relevant experience, knowledge of GI anatomy, and SGNA certification is preferred. Schedule is 40 hours, Monday–Friday, day shift with on-call requirements; a signing bonus may be available.

Prepares rooms and equipment for procedures and cleans and reprocesses a variety of endoscopes and accessories. Maintains and stocks instruments and supplies.**Major Responsibilities:*** Prepares procedure rooms for endoscopic procedures. Assist with patient transfer to and from procedure rooms, prepares vital sign monitoring systems, and position patient appropriate to procedure. Assist health care team with patient care, ensuring proper airway protection via oral suctioning during upper endoscopic procedures.* Assembles necessary equipment specific to procedure, to include scopes and instruments used for therapeutic and diagnostic treatments. Troubleshoots and ensure proper working order of computer and equipment. Ensures availability of equipment properly sized for the procedure.* Assists physicians and health care staff with advanced endoscopic procedures. Utilizes specimen retrieval instruments and other devices to assist with procedures.
