Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking an Endoscopy Support Technician to assist physicians during endoscopic procedures and to prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment. Under RN supervision, you will help with setup, decontamination, and transport of instruments, while adhering to ANSI/AAMI guidelines.

The role requires effective communication, problem-solving, and basic computer skills, with CPR certification and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• One year of hospital, clinic, or endoscopy experience preferred.
• Current CPR Certification.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures for patients of varying ages under RN supervision.
• Set up and maintain endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Receive, decontaminate, transport, and disinfect medical equipment per ANSI/AAMI guidelines.
• Prepare endoscopy equipment per Manufacturer Instructions for Use (MIFU).
• Provide on-call coverage for urgent/emergent procedures and maintain a clean department environment.
