• Preferred: experience in endoscopy or surgical services and knowledge of Olympus scope processing

Responsibilities

• Engages in population‑appropriate communication, gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves them in care.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems, interprets population‑related data, and plans care.
• Performs clinical procedures only under RN supervision, with demonstrated competency.
• Obtains vital signs – temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure – includes pulse oximetry where applicable, and reports to RN.
• Ensures appropriate specimen processing, cleans and maintains equipment, performs leak tests, and follows manufacturer QA.
• Assists with patient transport, maintains unit safety, and manages equipment and supplies.
• Supports infection‑control protocols, universal precautions, and environmental safety.
• Performs miscellaneous duties such as cleaning, reporting safety hazards, and assisting in unit meetings.
