Job Summary

This job assists in procedures competently and professionally, understands the basic principles of anatomy and physiology associated with GI procedures, and ensures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Preferred – experience with endoscopic procedures.
• Certifications: Required – Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Certified Endoscope Reprocessor, Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor, or other relevant certifications (within 2 years of hire or transfer).

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent time‑management skills.
• Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule.

Additional Requirements

Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply and ensures compliance.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

May require exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, hazardous medications or hazardous waste, and there may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
