Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's MidState Medical Center is seeking an entry-level Patient Care Tech in the Endoscopy Unit. Under supervision of an RN/Provider, you assist during procedures and help reprocess equipment, preparing rooms and ensuring regulatory compliance.

This fast-paced role requires flexibility, handles multiple priorities, and offers growth into Patient Care Tech 2 after proficiency and CE credits are completed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified BLS Provider within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent reading and communication skills in English.
• Ability to learn infection control and radiology safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and maintain equipment.
• Assist RN and provider during endoscopic procedures.
• Perform high‑level disinfection of endoscopic equipment.
• Transport patients and specimens for timely care.
• Document pertinent patient information in the medical record.
• Maintain inventories and restock supplies as needed.
• Promote patient advocacy and quality service.
