Job summary

The Elliot 1 Day Surgery Center at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join our team. You will support the endoscopist, ensure safe endoscopy procedures, and help maintain clean, ready-to-use spaces for throughput and patient care.

You will work under physician supervision, handle room turnover, and manage supplies, with emphasis on patient safety and quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred at time of hire; or must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant experience in Endoscopy setting or Surgical Technician with Endoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates throughput during admission, procedural, and recovery phases.
• Assists under physician supervision with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures and related duties.
• Responsible for turnover of procedure rooms and admission/recovery areas.
• Demonstrates competency in cleaning process of scopes per guidelines; documents processing correctly.
• Maintains supply levels in procedure and work areas and ensures readiness of needed supplies and equipment.
• Returns endoscopes and equipment to storage; cleans and transports to Sterile Processing; uses appropriate disinfectants.

It’s designed to provide minimally invasive surgical procedures with the highest level of quality care and patient satisfaction. The surgery center offers a wide range of services, including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, urology, and gynecology. Patients can expect the latest technologies and top-level expertise from skilled surgeons and staff. The center also offers pre-surgical testing, post-operative care, and education to ensure a smooth transition back to normal activities.

About the Job:

To function as an integral member of the endoscopy team by performing a variety of duties that assist the endoscopist in carrying out a safe endoscopy procedure with optimal results for the patient. Demonstrates patient and customer focus by treating patients and others one serves as a top priority and by meeting or exceeding their expectations.

What You’ll Do:

• Facilitates throughput during admission, procedural, and recovery phases.
• Assists under the direct supervision of the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound procedures, ERCP, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, esophageal dilations, specimen collection, and other related duties.
• Responsible for turnover of procedure rooms and admission/recovery areas.
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge in the manual and automated cleaning process of scopes. Adheres to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Documents processing appropriately.
• Maintains an adequate supply level in procedure rooms, utility rooms, and office areas. Ensures the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient, effective, and safe patient throughput. Monitors for outdated equipment/supplies.
• Returns endoscopes and equipment to the appropriate storage place, cleans, and ensures transport of certain items to the Sterile Processing Department. Utilizes appropriate chemicals for disinfection. Verifies and monitors the shelf life of disinfectants.

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire is required, unless other current NH state license is held.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred at time of hire; OR completion of BLS certification within thirty (30) days of hire required.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant experience in an Endoscopy setting or Surgical Technician with experience in an Endoscopy setting preferred.
