Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Outpatient Surgery Department at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. This full-time role includes a 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

schedule on weekdays with on-call requirements, and occasional floating to nearby hospitals 1-2 times per month. Responsibilities include assisting with nursing care during procedures, handling instrument processing, and ensuring safe re-use of equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• CPR BLS through American Heart Association.
• One year of hospital experience or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Surgical Technician preferred.
• Good communication skills.

• Assists with providing nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in the Outpatient Surgery Department.
• Performs processing of instruments and equipment in OPS to assure prompt and safe re-use.

• Hours:
  • Schedule: Availability from 7am-5:30pm M-F with call requirements (PMs, Nights and weekends included)
• Travel:
  • Floating Locations 1-2 times per month: (Highland Park, Skokie and Evanston Hospitals)

What You Will Do

Assists with providing nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in the Outpatient Surgery Department. Performs processing of instruments and equipment in OPS to assure prompt and safe re-use.

What You Will Need

• Education:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
• Certification:
  • CPR BLS through American Heart Association
• Experience:
  • Must satisfactorily complete a planned orientation program at Swedish Covenant Hospital
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with others
  • Ability to observe and report accurately
  • Technical ability for handling specialized instrumentation and equipment
  • Ability to handle confidentiality appropriately
  • One year of hospital experience or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Surgical Technician preferred
