ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN

Mt. Kisco, NY

Temp to Perm

M-F 8 am - 5 pm

Position Overview

The Endoscopy Tech is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse and Physician in performing duties and procedures related to endoscopy.

Essential Functions:
  1. Set up procedure rooms, including layout of supplies and selection of proper scopes.
  2. Prepare the endoscopy procedure room after each procedure, following infection control practices, including disinfection of all surfaces.
  3. Clean and flush scopes according to national standards and infection control guidelines.
  4. Monitor and maintain automated endoscopic reprocessing equipment, including performing control monitoring and quality assurance procedures.
  5. Maintain autoclave and process all sterilization procedures on instruments, following guidelines and maintaining logs and spore testing.
  6. Assist with handling specimens, transporting them to the lab, and helping transport patients into and out of procedure rooms.
Qualifications and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Technician Program.
  • Training in endoscopic equipment cleaning processes.
  • Prior experience is a plus; on-the-job training provided.
