Job summary

Lowcountry Endoscopy Center LLC is seeking a Full-Time Endoscopy Technician to float among three areas. You will prepare the procedure room, assist doctors during endoscopic procedures, and help with documentation of pathology specimens and room turnover. In decontamination, you will disinfect scopes and equipment.

You will also unload supplies and scan documents into EMR, with duties assigned by nursing leadership. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 3:15 pm.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience or graduation from a medical assisting/surgical technician program preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be flexible
• Must be Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare the procedure room in a timely manner and assist the physician with endoscopic procedures.
• Serve as circulator assisting with documentation of pathology specimens and room turnaround.
• Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopic scopes/equipment in the decontamination room.
• Unload supplies and scan documents into EMR.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nursing or charge nurse.

Charleston GI has been developing since 1989, our practice is the first and largest gastroenterology practice in the Lowcountry to operate a physicians' practice and three nationally certified and state licensed endoscopy centers. Our team includes ten outstanding Board Certified Gastroenterologists, with a combined experience of over 100 years of treating patients. Full-Time Endoscopy Technician needed for our Lowcountry Endoscopy Center. This individual will be required to float through three areas. In the procedure room, he/she is responsible for preparing the procedure room in a timely manner and assisting the physician with endoscopic procedures. As circulator, the Endoscopy Technician will assist the procedure room tech with documentation of pathology specimens and assist with room turnaround. In the decontamination room, the Endoscopy Technician is responsible for the high-level disinfection of endoscopic scopes/equipment. In addition, the position requires unloading supplies, scanning of documents into EMR, and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nursing or charge nurse. The position is Monday - Friday, 6:45 am - 3:15 pm.

• Minimum one year of healthcare experience or graduation from a medical assisting/surgical technician program preferred.
