Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Endoscopy Technician.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for ensuring all instruments (e.g., exchange carts, par level carts, instrument sets, and single peel packs) and emergency supplies meet established quotas, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Delivers instruments to the surgical suites in a timely manner. Decontaminates, disinfects, tests, adjusts, assembles, and transports mobile patient equipment. Decontaminates, inspects, assembles, preps, packs, and sterilizes designated surgical instrumentation. Conducts inventories (e.g., orders and stocks medical disposable goods in storage areas) and ensures sterile processing of all materials. Answers telephone; responds to requests from internal and external customers and actively participates in a continuous quality improvement process.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrates Universal Precautions in the exposure & handling of hazardous waste.
  2. Ensures that all scopes are secured and stored in a safe manner.
  3. Reports, troubleshoots, and/or implements corrective actions related to malfunctioning equipment & endoscopes promptly.
  4. Rotates stock and monitors expiration dates.
  5. Maintains utility room and work areas clean, neat, and free of safety hazards.
  6. Ensures that endoscopes have been reprocessed as per OR policy and procedure prior to patient use.
  7. Positions, lifts, and holds patients in a safe and therapeutic manner.
  8. Practices aseptic technique with transport and handling of sterilized items.
  9. Collaborates with the unit manager or charge nurse in determining priorities.
  10. Prepares case-specific table setups that are well organized, neatly arranged, and fully equipped for intra-op use and post-op decontamination.
  11. Performs all the requirements of the Universal Protocol and Time Out in accordance with hospital policy.
  12. Performs proper specimen handling according to policy.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations. Knowledge of health care products, patient care equipment, instruments, medical terminology, and basic use required. Basic computer skills. Must have one of the following certifications: (1) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), (2) Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), or (3) Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER).

Required Licenses:

Certified Central Service Tech, Cert Endoscope Reprocessor

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary range: $51,924.00 - $57,181.84 annually, depending on experience, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses or other compensation.
