Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH CTS Endoscopy Associate / Endoscopy Technician to support the Department of Perioperative Services in New York.

The role involves assisting in the setup of the procedural room, assembling supplies and instruments for GI procedures, performing hand hygiene, and helping prepare patients for GI procedures while upholding infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of the procedural room
• Assemble necessary supplies and instruments for GI procedures
• Perform hand hygiene as required
• Assist with the preparation of the patient undergoing a GI procedure
• Actively participate in the patient verification process and safety of the procedural patient
• Confirm and ensure high-level disinfection of all procedural scopes
• Assist with infection prevention measures
• Assist with patient safety measures including infection risk reduction and handling of specimens
• Assist with cleaning of the procedure room, post procedure and at end of day
• Assist with maintenance of supplies and equipment for GI procedures
• Maintain proficiency and competency of usage of all GI equipment and supplies
• Assist providers

• Assist with all infection prevention measures
• Assist with patient safety measures including those associated with reducing the risk of infection as well as care and handling of specimens
