Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Endoscopy Support Technician in Mesa, AZ to assist with endoscopic procedures, prepare instruments, maintain equipment, and ensure sterile practice in daily patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department policies
  • Prepare cases and pull appropriate instruments and supplies
  • Maintain accurate information on preference cards
  • Review cases for procedural needs and ensure diagnostic and therapeutic devices are available
  • Assist in performing endoscopic procedures and anticipate changing needs
  • Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions
  • Dispose of sharps and trash
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store scopes and reusable devices
  • Return unused supplies appropriately
  • Set up diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
  • Position equipment and patients in procedure rooms
  • Clean and stock procedure rooms and carts
  • Assist with clerical duties as needed
  • Work under direct supervision and follow established procedures and protocols

Job description

  • Prepare cases and pull appropriate instruments and supplies
  • Maintain accurate information on preference cards
  • Review cases for procedural needs and ensure diagnostic and therapeutic devices are available
  • Assist in performing endoscopic procedures and anticipate changing needs
  • Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions

Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Clinical knowledge normally associated with 1–2 years of previous experience in a health care setting
  • Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills
  • Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment required
  • Completion of post-offer drug screen required
  • Completion of post-offer background check, including employment, criminal, and education checks, required
  • Certification preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
