Job summary
Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL seeks an Endoscopy Tech to support RN-led reprocessing of endoscopes in the ambulatory care setting.
You will maintain equipment, assist with patient transport, and ensure safety and cleanliness while supporting daily endoscopy procedures and quality improvements. Training and growth opportunities align with NM’s comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- CPR - Basic Life Support.
- Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintains competencies in the reprocessing of endoscopes and operating the scope washers.
- Identifies actual or potential problems with the integrity of the endoscopes and assists the charge nurse in orchestrating repair.
- Maintains documentation regarding the inventory and repair of endoscopes.
- Uses proper patient identification procedures in transporting of patients.
- Safely transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
- Expedites on time starts and efficient turnover between procedures; knows endotherapy supplies and equipment.
- Locates, obtains, and restocks supplies and equipment.
- Performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of a physician and/or nurse.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Assists the nurse in the preparation of the patient prior to and after the procedure.
