Job summary

Asante is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support physicians during endoscopic procedures in a hospital setting. The role involves preparing and maintaining reusable equipment, assisting with specimen collection, and ensuring safe, efficient operation before, during, and after procedures.

With a part-time, 0.6 FTE schedule, the technician will contribute to high-quality patient care and stay current with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience, preferably in an acute care environment.
• BLS: Basic Life Support certification required upon start.
• SGNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform endoscopic therapeutic and diagnostic procedures according to departmental standards and protocols.
• Assist the physicians with the procedure, collecting specimens and processing according to policy.
• Ensure that the equipment is set-up correctly and is functioning properly before procedure begins and troubleshoot problems effectively during the procedure if needed.
• Ensure that the equipment is cleaned and reprocessed according to departmental standards.
• Maintain skills to provide a quality service and keep current with the industry.
• Communicate pertinent information concerning the procedure to the appropriate staff and physician.
