Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency.
• Minimum of 1 year endoscopy experience.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required during new hire orientation.
• GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification to be obtained within 1 year.
• Able to read and write at a 12th grade level; basic computer skills.
• Requires the ability to respond to call within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of surgical sites.
• Practices aseptic technique.
• Assist in preparation of room prior to endoscopic procedures and clean room after procedures.
• Assist staff and surgeons to insure instruments, supplies, and equipment are available for endo procedures.
• Take assigned call as required.
• Recognize age-specific needs of patients of all psychosocial and/or cultural backgrounds.
