Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL seeks an Endoscopy Technician to assist in endoscopic procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support the surgical team. Responsibilities include preparing the endoscopy suite, verifying patient identity, and assisting with post-procedure cleanup as well as equipment handling.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, surgical endoscopy experience or related experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Surgical certification or 2 years of endoscopy or surgical related experience.
• AHA or ARC BLS required.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the endoscopy suite, including equipment, instruments, and supplies for daily procedures.
• Verify patient identity, informed consent, correct procedure site, and participate in time-out processes.
• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout procedures, including sterilization and disinfection processes.
• Ensure a safe clinical environment by following infection control, electrical safety, fire prevention, and biohazard protocols.
• Anticipate procedural needs, efficiently manage supplies and equipment, and support smooth workflow during procedure.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, including CPR and respiratory distress, following established protocols.
• Handle, label, transport, and process patient specimens according to policy and regulatory standards.
• Safely operate endoscopy equipment, assist with patient positioning, and perform post-procedure cleanup and equipment handling.
