Job summary

Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Support professional to assist physicians with endoscopic examinations and to maintain ready procedure areas and equipment.

The role requires at least 1 year of clinical experience and current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification; strong teamwork and communication are essential for patient safety and efficient endoscopy workflows.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year of clinical experience.
  • Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Labels and sends specimens for analysis.
  • Communicates patient status and equipment needs to healthcare workers.
  • Prepares procedure area and equipment for endoscopic procedures.
  • Maintains and cleans endoscopic equipment and supplies.
  • Reprocesses flexible endoscopes per policy.
  • Transports items and medications throughout the facility.
  • Maintains attendance and adherence to Orlando Health policies.
  • Participates in mandatory education and department meetings.
  • Supports nursing Environments of Care activities as assigned.

Responsibilities
What you will do
  • Labels and sends specimens to proper department/location for analysis.
  • Communicates appropriate information regarding patient status, technical equipment, or unit concerns to necessary healthcare workers.
  • Prepares procedure area and equipment for procedure.
  • Maintains, cleans, and stores endoscopic equipment and supplies.
  • Reprocesses Flexible Endoscopes according to policy.
  • Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
  • May have limited access to areas storing medications.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Completes all Orlando Health mandatory education.
  • Attends department staff meetings as required.
  • Assumes the responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
  • Participates in nursing Environments of Care activities as assigned.

  • One (1) year clinical experience.
  • Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification
