Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY is seeking a Medical Assistant for Tisch 5/6 Endoscopy Unit - Evening Shift (35 Hours). The role supports physicians and nurses in delivering patient care and facilitating procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program or current MA certification, and strong communication with patients and staff. MA experience is preferred; EKG/spirometry skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution OR hold a current MA Certification from a Nationally Recognized accrediting body (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists physicians and nurses in providing patient care.
• Assists patients and communicates with physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
• Answers telephone and assists staff in scheduling treatments.
• Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use.
• Assists physicians with procedures (e.g., GI procedures).
• Assists patients with meals, toileting, ambulation, and comfort.
• Ensures exam rooms are prepared for next patient and cleans after each patient.
