Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for the Endoscopy Unit. This full-time role features Mon-Fri 4 eight-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, with no weekend or holiday work.

Requirements include graduation from a Board of Nursing approved program, an active RN license (multi-state compact preferred) with BLS. Typically, 1 year of clinical nursing experience is expected; strong judgment, teamwork, and EHR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges in the relevant state; multi-state compact acceptable.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care; involve patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and delegates appropriately.
• Performs ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
• Delivers age-appropriate care across the lifespan; adheres to department policies.
• Aligns with ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.
