Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Unit on Pre-Op, Procedure, and Recovery teams. This full-time position schedules four days (Monday–Friday, 0730–1700) with on-call requirements to support patient care across endoscopy services.

The RN will perform pre-procedure assessments, assist during procedures with sedation monitoring and sterile technique, and provide post-procedure recovery and discharge readiness in collaboration with

Qualifications

Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license).
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; endoscopy, critical care, or procedural experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient assessments and preparations for endoscopic procedures.
Provide safe and effective support during procedures, including sedation monitoring and sterile technique.
Deliver post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring patient readiness for discharge or transfer.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled (6–8 call shifts/month, including at least one weekend).
