Job summary

UNC Health Wayne is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy team on site in Wayne, NC. The RN will apply the nursing process, supervise licensed and unlicensed staff, and provide holistic patient care in collaboration with physicians and families.

The ideal candidate holds NC RN licensure, BLS or equivalent, and demonstrates leadership and clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. 40 hours/week, daytime schedule, onsite role with a strong emphasis on patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in North Carolina required.
• Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support certifications as required by department.
• Additional certifications may be required by assigned department.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care.
• Individualizes the plan of care using professional nursing judgment and evaluates patient progress.
• Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems and organizes care.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with providers, interdisciplinary teammates, patients and families.
• Follows systems that support the nursing process and delivers safe, effective patient care.
• Monitors activities of other teammates and delegates appropriately; provides direction and training.
• Assists teammates in delivering nursing care and may act as team leader or charge nurse.
• Keeps leadership informed of problems or concerns; participates in performance improvement activities.
