Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Direct Care Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy Unit in Norfolk, VA. This full-time day position involves pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery within pulmonary, GI, and ENT services.

You will provide sedation monitoring, sterile technique, and coordinated post-procedure care, with collaboration across an interdisciplinary team. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or Compact/Multistate.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS required after 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and preparations for endoscopic procedures.
• Provide safe and effective support during procedures, including sedation monitoring and sterile technique.
• Deliver post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring patient readiness for discharge or transfer.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled (6–8 call shifts/month, including at least one weekend).
