Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Hospital-Based Endoscopy unit at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. This PRN/part-time role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care across the endoscopy service line, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and comfort throughout procedures and recovery.

The RN will assess patients, administer medications, educate families, and participate in discharge planning while upholding HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• New-hire RNs must start an approved BSN program within one year and complete within three years (required).
• Two years of hospital patient care experience (preferred).
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status from admission to discharge across the care continuum.
• Administer medications per licensure and document timely administration.
• Plan and coordinate care with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and family teaching and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with unlicensed assistive personnel while ensuring patient safety.
