Duties and Responsibilities

Endoscopy Nurses (RN) are registered nurses with expertise in Endoscopy, understanding physiology, pathophysiology, procedures, and pharmacodynamics of conscious sedation anesthesia and analgesia.

• Perform ongoing assessment and data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychobiologic, and cognitive needs; use assessment data to formulate nursing diagnoses.
• Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring safety.
• Maintain personal contact with patients and relatives, respecting their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy, and fostering a friendly environment.
• Store, check, and administer medication according to standards and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate nursing records, respecting confidentiality.
• Work with minimal supervision during procedures, patient admission, and recovery.
