Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's Endoscopy Unit is seeking a dedicated RN to provide pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery for outpatient and inpatient cases.

This role offers a stable full-time day schedule (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:00pm) with on-call shifts and weekend coverage. Candidates must hold an Virginia RN license, BLS/ACLS, and have strong teamwork and communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Virginia (or compact license).
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; endoscopy, critical care, or procedural experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and preparations for endoscopic procedures.
• Provide safe and effective support during procedures, including sedation monitoring and sterile technique.
• Deliver post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring patient readiness for discharge or transfer.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled (6–8 call shifts/month, including at least one weekend).

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. This position involves comprehensive patient care across the continuum—pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure recovery—for a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures. The Endoscopy RN plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing procedures in pulmonary, gastroenterology, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and preparations for endoscopic procedures

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
