Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Operating Room Endo Technician to support the Endoscopy Team and perioperative services. You will assist in preparing, setting up and supporting endoscopy procedures with emphasis on aseptic technique and instrument handling.

The role requires at least 3 years in an acute care OR setting, BLS certification, and CST preference. You will work under the Director of Perioperative Services and OR Supervisor, upholding MLK's mission and core

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required.
• CST certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care OR setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in all communications.
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with peers, management, and physicians.
• Communicates information to the Circulating Nurse and/or OR Clinical Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Prioritizes responsibilities and multitasks efficiently.
• Works under pressure and remains calm in busy procedures.
• Assembles supplies/equipment for surgical and endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains sterility of the surgical field and environment.
• Decontaminates, cleans, assembles, and sterilizes instruments as needed.
• Collaborates with the nurse to ensure counts of sponge/needle/instrument.
• Verifies equipment functions properly before the procedure.
• Delivers patient/family-centered care per MLK Core Values.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
