Job summary

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Develop and update a written plan of care with nursing diagnoses.
• Coordinate patient, family and health team in discharge planning.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient status and plans in the medical record accurately.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to ensure patient safety.
• Teach patients and families and participate in quality improvement.
• Serve as charge RN or preceptor as competency allows.
