Job summary

The High Level Disinfection Technician at the Medical University of South Carolina Charleston performs HLD on endoscopes for all MUSC sites, working in multiple spaces under supervision. Duties include instrument inspection, decontamination, and proper documentation to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with High Level Disinfection (HLD) and endoscope reprocessing.
• Knowledge of established policies for instrument handling and storage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes and instruments per policy.
• Inspect, decontaminate, and disinfect equipment; maintain documentation and logs.
• Coordinate with Endoscopy team to ensure timely processing across multiple spaces.
