Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months - AHA.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support care coordination.
• Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops plan of care.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Modifies plan of care based on ongoing evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
• Communicates with team to resolve issues and supports peer development.
• Identifies learning needs and pursues appropriate solutions.
• Fulfills departmental competencies.
• Prepares patient for procedures and starts IV.
• Monitors and sedates patients during procedures.
• Cares for patients in recovery phases and assists during cases with anesthesia involvement.
