Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography Technician (ERCP) for the Endo/GI Lab. You will support patient data collection, execute procedures, monitor safety, and assist in admissions while collaborating with nurses to address age, culture, and developmental needs.

The role requires a high school diploma and GI experience. ERCP experience is preferred; BCLS certification is mandatory before independent patient care with quarterly refreshers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of GI clinical experience required.
• 1 year of previous ERCP experience preferred.
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurses.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• In collaboration with nurses, adapts care to age-specific and developmental considerations.
• In collaboration with the nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
