Reporting to the Dental Director, the Endodontist is responsible for diagnosing and treating dental conditions related to the pulp and nerves of teeth, performing root canal therapy, surgical treatment of the root and nerve, post and core, conducting complex dental procedures, and providing specialized care for patients experiencing dental pain or infections.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree
- Completion of an accredited endodontic residency program
- Board certification
- Strong clinical skills and dexterity

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnosis and treatment: perform root canal treatment, endodontic surgeries, and other procedures related to the pulp such as post, core build, apicoectomy, and nerve issues of teeth.
- Patient consultation: Meet with patients to discuss their dental concerns, provide treatment options, and explain procedures, risks, and benefits.
- Examination and diagnosis: utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as digital X-rays, pulp tests, and CT scans to assess the condition of teeth and determine the extent of treatment required.
- Treatment planning: Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
- Management: Effectively manage and alleviate dental pain in patients suffering from pulp or nerve-related issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with general dentists and other specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Patient education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to maintain dental health.
- After-hour care: Be available to handle emergency calls and issues.
- Training: Train general dentists in endodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedures.
- Continuing education: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in endodontic techniques and technologies.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Compliance: Adhere to regulatory guidelines, infection control protocols, and safety standards.
- Workflow and quality improvement: Collaborate with the Dental Director to improve workflows and quality measures.
- Other duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned or modified based on business needs.
