Position Summary

The Endodontist delivers advanced specialty dental care within a defined clinical discipline, providing diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical services that require postdoctoral specialty training and credentials. This role serves patients with complex or specialized clinical needs, referring providers, and the broader Innovate32 care team by providing expert-level specialty treatment that elevates the quality and comprehensiveness of care available within the organization. The core purpose is to deliver exceptional specialty outcomes, support seamless coordination between specialty and general dentistry, and serve as the clinical authority in the assigned specialty discipline across the practices supported.

Core Responsibilities

Specialist: Independently delivers advanced specialty clinical care within postdoctoral scope; serves as clinical authority in assigned discipline.

Specialty Clinical Delivery
  • Provide comprehensive specialty dental services within the assigned discipline, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical procedures consistent with specialty-level training and board certification.
  • Evaluate complex referral cases from general practitioners, develop specialty-specific treatment plans, and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both patients and referring providers.
  • Perform advanced specialty procedures with precision, efficiency, and a focus on long-term clinical outcomes and patient safety.
  • Maintain current specialty certification, board standing, and continuing education requirements in accordance with specialty-specific standards.
  • Maintain budgetary awareness for specialty materials, lab cases, equipment use, and procedural costs in support of efficient specialty operations.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Patient Experience
  • Coordinate closely with General Practitioners and Associate Dentists to ensure continuity of care, appropriate case handoffs, and integrated treatment planning across general and specialty services.
  • Build trusted relationships with patients, caregivers, and referring providers that reflect the clinical excellence and patient-centered culture of Innovate32.
  • Contribute to clinical protocol development and quality assurance efforts within the specialty service line.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Document all specialty procedures, findings, treatment plans, and patient communications accurately and in compliance with regulatory and practice standards.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and any specialty-specific regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the clinical authority and knowledge resource for the assigned specialty discipline, supporting provider education and referral decision-making.
Supervisory Responsibility

The Endodontist is the clinical authority within the assigned specialty discipline and provides direction to dental assistants, clinical support staff, and referring providers on all matters related to specialty procedures, patient safety, and specialty-specific standards of care. This role sets and enforces clinical expectations within the specialty service line and communicates directly with team members on chairside performance and procedural conduct. When clinical concerns require operational or administrative follow-up, this role partners with the Office Manager to ensure they are addressed appropriately.

Education & Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the assigned specialty discipline, with a track record of complex case management and strong patient outcomes.
  • Experience coordinating specialty care within a multi-provider or group practice environment is preferred.
Required Education
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited postdoctoral specialty residency program in the assigned discipline (e.g., Orthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, or Prosthodontics).
Required Licensure & Certifications
  • Active, unrestricted dental license in the state of practice.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in the assigned specialty discipline.
  • Current DEA registration (where applicable to specialty) and CPR/BLS certification.
  • All specialty-required certifications and permits current and in good standing (e.g., IV sedation, surgical permits).
Preferred:
  • Fellowship or Diplomate status in the applicable specialty board.
  • Experience in a DSO, group practice, or multi-site specialty environment.
  • Familiarity with Dentrix or dental practice management software.
  • Interest in provider education, interdisciplinary case collaboration, and organizational clinical development.
