Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System seeks a board-certified Endocrinologist to join its academic team. The physician will provide inpatient and outpatient care, contribute to teaching, and participate in program development.

Role includes involvement in education with the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, and a schedule Monday through Friday. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and other benefits.

Qualifications

• US citizenship requirement as per VA policy
• MD degree from an approved medical school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in a US state
• Residency training in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology

Responsibilities

• Continue and develop inpatient and outpatient clinical programs.
• Provide medical care in the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System.
• Attend outpatient clinic and inpatient service as assigned.
• Supervise and teach medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in educational activities with University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine.
• Engage in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other admin duties.
• Provide expert consultation within the endocrine discipline.
• Coordinate medical management with Primary Care and other services in a multidisciplinary system.
• Provide on-call services as assigned.
• Participate in monitoring quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care; perform peer reviews and OPPE.
