Job description

Cumberland Hospital in New Kent, VA is recruiting a Board-Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our team. The position is for PRN work, primarily conducted remotely, with the possibility of on-site visits as needed.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide weekly review and oversight of blood glucose management for patients with diabetes mellitus (types 1 and 2).
2. Conduct initial consultations for patients admitted with diagnoses such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, growth hormone deficiency, Turner syndrome, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and inborn errors of metabolism.
3. Review blood glucoses and diabetes treatment plans for children aged 5 to 18 years (admitted ages 2 to 22 years) in collaboration with pediatricians and nurse practitioners.
4. Participate in diabetes education and patient education groups.

Team Environment

Join a multidisciplinary team including Pediatric, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, and Physiatry physicians, NPs, psychologists, dietitians, and nurses providing care for young patients with chronic illnesses, brain injuries, and neurobehavioral disorders.

Location and Schedule

Cumberland Hospital is located in New Kent, VA, between Williamsburg and Richmond, near the Tidewater region. The role is PRN with flexible scheduling, involving patient care in acute, inpatient, and residential settings.
