Indiana hospital seeks a BE/BC Endocrinologist to join one other endocrinologist and four advanced practice nurses in a well-established, dynamic, and rapidly expanding diverse endocrinology practice in northeastern Indiana. The practice is a division of a well-respected major referral center serving northeast and north central Indiana, southern Michigan, and northwest Ohio.
Position Details
- Outpatient, employed position, full-time, 36 contact hours weekly, with a flexible work week of 4 or 5 days.
- Expected patient volume is around 20 patients daily.
- Part-time employment options may also be considered.
- Scope of practice includes the full spectrum of endocrinological diseases such as diabetes I and II, gestational diabetes, thyroid diseases including cancer, pituitary and adrenal disorders, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, diabetes insipidus, calcium disorders, osteoporosis, hypogonadism, neuroendocrine tumors, and endocrine hypertension.
- Services provided encompass insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring systems, radioiodine therapy, thyroid ultrasound and FNA, DEXA scan interpretation, medication administration for endocrine disorders, and stimulation and suppression testing. The practice has an excellent diabetes educator.
- After-hours calls are primarily managed by the nurse practitioner, resulting in minimal call volume. Coverage may rotate 1:2 with the current endocrinologist, or each endocrinologist may cover their own patients.
- The clinic is attached to the hospital, with inpatient coverage provided by three of the four advanced practice nurses; endocrinologists provide backup via phone. The new endocrinologist may also choose to see hospital patients if interested.
- The four advanced practice nurses have independent patient panels and practice under endocrinologist supervision, all being highly competent and experienced providers.

- Competitive salary guaranteed in the first year, with subsequent compensation based on productivity (wRVUs). A productivity bonus may also be earned over the guaranteed salary.
