Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers by taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with exams and procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma, BLS within 30 days, CMA certification, and one year of healthcare experience; preferred is MA program graduate.

You will schedule appointments, educate patients on follow-up, and help maintain equipment and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Current National Certification as Certified Medial Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
