Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist with exams and procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be BLS certified within 30 days of hire, and hold National CMA certification; one year of healthcare experience is preferred. 40 hours per week, day shift, non-exempt; training on software applications will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Current National Certification as Certified Medical Assistant is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
