Job summary

University of Toledo Health and the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences invite applications for an Endocrinologist at the Department of Medicine. The role spans direct patient care, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and leading or participating in research within endocrinology.

The candidate will join a diverse endocrinology team with emphasis on education, research productivity, and community service in Ohio and Michigan’s border region.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an Endocrinology fellowship.
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position.
  • Ability to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in endocrinology.
  • Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating to ensure positive patient experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care in endocrinology; instructs medical students and residents in the discipline of Endocrinology; participates in conferences, conducts, and develops research grants and proposals.
  • Work with the endocrinology healthcare team to provide patients with endocrinology medical care services within the standard of care for endocrinology patients.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.
  • Conduct independent research in line with the goals of the Department of Medicine including maintaining a strong record of accomplishments and the ability to secure external funding that will provide salary support as Principal Investigator or Co- Principal Investigator and support research efforts and projects. Publish in peer-reviewed literature as first or co-author.
