Job summary

Cornell University’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center seeks a Diagnostic Technologist to support the Endocrinology Laboratory’s high-volume veterinary diagnostic and research testing services. This position performs a broad range of routine to moderately complex endocrine testing using immunoassay technologies while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; up to two years of laboratory experience or equivalent
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and self-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to meet physical demands (up to 20 lbs) and sit/stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing using immunoassay technologies and related equipment
• Process and manage specimens including accessioning and preparation
• Maintain quality control, monitor assay/instrument performance, and document results
• Assist with laboratory operations, inventory, equipment maintenance, and training while following safety/regulatory standards
