Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, seeks an open-rank faculty member for the Endocrine Surgery division within Surgical Oncology. The role emphasizes clinical endocrine surgery, teaching residents and fellows, and collaboration with Massey Cancer Center.

The incumbent will lead an endocrine surgical practice, participate in outreach clinics, and contribute to translational or clinical cancer research across Oncology disciplines.

Qualifications

• Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery.
• Advanced training fellowship in Endocrine Surgery or Surgical Oncology with extensive training in Endocrine Surgery.
• Commitment to Outcomes, Clinical and/or Basic Science Research
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Responsibilities

• Clinical responsibilities include full-time endocrine clinical practice, including outreach clinics, and care of Oncology Surgical patients on the MCV campus and community locations.
• Support Division’s teaching of Surgery Residents, Fellows and VCU Medical Students.
• Participate in clinical and/or basic science research relevant to Endocrine Surgery; develop interdisciplinary collaborations with Massey Cancer Center, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.
