Job summary

Duke University seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for the Endocrine Department to deliver comprehensive care to patients at Duke University Hospital in Durham and Duke Raleigh Hospital. The APP will work under MD supervision, performing exams, orders, and procedures with a focus on endocrine health and patient safety.

Key responsibilities include coordinating patient care, collaborating with residents and attendings, and maintaining high-quality documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• State licensure as NP or PA in North Carolina or eligibility with compact license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for endocrine patients in Duke Hospital or Duke Raleigh Hospital.
• Perform physical exams, document data, and order labs and consultations.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, and nurses to develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate patient care across ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Document all patient information in the EMR and provide patient education.
