Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center in the United States is seeking a Registered Nurse Endo GI for PRN coverage. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate patients and families, and prepare patients with IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.

You will work with surgeons and other team members to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care. The role requires ACLS and BCLS certifications within specified timeframes and RN licensure.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensed registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and perioperative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification with universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor changes, and document care.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition and follow-up.
