Job summary

Superior Materials, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America, is seeking an experienced End Loader Operator in Detroit, MI. You will feed materials onto conveyors and into the concrete plant, perform preventative maintenance, and keep the yard clean and safe.

Responsibilities include loading trucks, ordering materials for the batch plant, and assisting in plant repairs. A CDL B with air brake endorsement is required or must be obtainable, along with lifting up to 75 pounds regularly.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials
• Knowledge of equipment (conveyor lines, concrete plant, and trucks)
• Basic mechanical skills
• Ability to operate end loader
• Burning and welding
• Forklift Certification (will help obtain)
• Commercial driver license with minimum of a “B” endorsement with air brakes
• Lifting 75 pounds on a regular basis
• Climbing up to 320 feet conveyer with a 45-degree angle

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems in the plant
• Lubrication of all plant equipment
• Assist in emergency repair situations of plant
• Basic preventive maintenance

Summary/Job Scope:

End loader Operator

Purpose of Position:

Responsibilities are to safely operate power-driven machine, equipped with movable shovel to feed materials onto conveyors and into concrete plant and trucks. Maintain concrete plant and yard through proper housekeeping and preventive maintenance. Maintain a safe concrete plant and yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating end loader to include pushing levers and depressing pedals to:
  • Move machine.
  • Lower and push bucket into stockpiled material
• Lift, swing, and dump contents of bucket into concrete plant and trucks
• Ordering materials for the batch plant
• Loading material into bins
• Loading trucks with shipping waste, etc.
• Maintaining lubrication of end loader
• Housekeeping in the plant yard
• Burning and welding
• Handling and lifting/loading into trucks - all concrete additives.
• Tearing down steel boxes for concrete blocks and reassembling
• Shoveling material
• Cleaning conveyors, catwalks, and other plant areas to eliminate material build-up.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems in the plant.
• Lubrication of all plant equipment.
• Assisting in emergency repair situations of plant.
• Basic preventive maintenance.
• Handling of mix fibers.
• Assemble and breakdown of form boxes.
• Maintenance and cleaning of dust collector.
• Must hold CDL and be available to drive a mixer truck on an as needed basis:
  • CDL B with airbrake endorsement

Qualifications and Education:

• Knowledge of materials
• Knowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant, and trucks)
• Basic mechanical skills
• Ability to operate end loader.

• Ability to read and write.

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
• Must hold CDL and be available to drive a mixer truck on an as needed basis.

• Climbing up to 320 feet conveyer with a 45-degree angle
