About the Role
Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for an End Welder at our Blytheville, AR location. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the End Welder will be responsible for operating controls for the leveler and end welder, setting up butt welders, and ensuring a continuous steel supply to the mill. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and efficiency.

Shift: 3rd Shift 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM

What You’ll Do

  • Operates controls for leveler and end welder.
  • Sets up butt welder for each gauge of material and welds coil ends together.
  • Identifies butt welds, gauge changes, and coil numbers with paint.
  • Ensures the accumulator remains loaded with sufficient steel to keep the mill running continuously.
  • Assists in performing mill changeovers.
  • Completes all required operating and quality reports.
  • Assists maintenance personnel in equipment repairs.
  • Supports other operators during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtime.
  • Reports any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance.
  • Empties all scrap buckets and maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule.

Who You Are

  • Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Military service completion is considered equivalent to a 2-year degree.
  • Preferred experience in tube mill manufacturing.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with measuring devices/equipment.
  • Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Visual acuity to read and record numerical data.
  • High attention to detail, dependability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment required in all positions.
  • Use of additional tools and equipment as needed.
  • Occasional overtime required.
  • Warehouse environment with an uncontrolled climate year-round.
  • Exposure to a dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
