Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an END technologist who works under a Neurologist to assist in diagnosing brain diseases and tumors through EEG tests. You will place electrodes and record brain waves to measure amplitude and frequency across brain regions.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (END program preferred), and current registration or eligibility for ABRET END credentials, with certification as a Registered EEG Technician within one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited END program preferred.
• Registered or certified in Neuro-Diagnostic Testing, or eligible per ABRET (Neuro-diagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation) END Exam Eligibility Requirements.
• Must be Certified Registered EEG T. within one year of obtaining role, required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision from a Neurologist, performs EEG diagnostic tests to aid in brain disease diagnosis (epilepsy, stroke, tumors).
• Attaches electrodes to specific regions of the head to record brain wave amplitude and frequency across brain areas.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently, with good judgment and patient care across all ages.

With supervision from a Neurologist, The END technologist plays an essential role in the diagnosis of brain diseases (such as epilepsy or stroke), injury and tumors. The END technologist performs these diagnostic tests with an instrument that records brain waves. The END technologist attaches electrodes to specific areas of the patient’s head to measure differences in the amplitude and frequency of electrical potentials between various parts of the brain.

Exceptional Skills And Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited END program preferred.
• Registered or certified in Neuro-Diagnostic Testing, or eligible per ABRET (Neuro-diagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation) END Exam Eligibility Requirements. Completion of recording, ASET CEUs, and documented EEGs prior to start date, required.
• Must be Certified Registered EEG T. within one year of obtaining role, required.
• Must demonstrate competence performing neuro-diagnostic procedures
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to act in good judgment in decision-making responsibilities
• Must have the ability to work with patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to elderly adults
• Basic knowledge of computers useful
