Job summary

UCHealth in Colorado Springs is seeking a Neurodiagnostics EEG Technician to perform EEGs in outpatient and bedside settings. The role is full-time, onsite, with a flex shift and 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• Meets ABRET's requirements for entry pathways to become a registered EEG technologist.
• BLS through AHA or Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
• BLS/CPR card must be valid through sixty days of hire.

Summary

Performs EEGs in an outpatient setting and at the patient's bedside.

Responsibilities

Applies patient electrodes in accordance to the International 10-20 system.

Performs routine EEG testing. Reviews patient histories and educates patients about procedures. Observes, notates, and analyzes ongoing clinical and technical changes, adjusting the testing procedures as appropriate for individual recording sessions.

Monitors and documents patient condition and responds to and reports any adverse reactions. Identifies and eliminates artifacts.

Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Completes all paperwork.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements
