Job summary

Koppers Inc. in Guthrie, KY is seeking a plant operator to support production activities in a safety‑driven environment. You will operate automatic End Plate equipment, presses, and conveyors, while maintaining accurate production counts and ensuring adherence to customer specifications.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, reporting needs to supervisors, and complying with SH&E regulations. This role requires preemployment screening and training in lockout/tagout and hazardous waste

Qualifications

• Pass preemployment medical screening.
• Trained as authorized personnel for lockout/tagout.
• Demonstrates retention level for required training elements.
• Trained to handle hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all plant administrative rules.
• Complies with all operating procedures.
• Obeys plant safety rules.
• Operates End Plate machine (automatic electrically/ hydraulic).
• Operates vice, press, and conveyors.
• Inspects ties to determine if end requires gang nails per customer specs.
• Determines if a tie is salvageable.
• Maintains numerical count of gang nailed ties and reports data to supervisor.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Informs supervisor or maintenance personnel of major repairs/adjustments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs all SH&E responsibilities.
