POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational, while working at and promoting the highest levels of safety. This position is also expected to advance the use of our CMMS system to build a preventive and predictive maintenance program and help enhance a culture of Continuous Improvement.

The Maintenance Technician will be the main point of contact for outside vendors performing regular work at both the HQ facility and the Appleton plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational.
2. Perform work at the highest safety levels, promote safety internally, and work directly with contractors on safety procedures.
3. Ensure sound maintenance processes are developed for capital projects and new equipment.
4. Work with outside vendors to facilitate preventative maintenance on equipment and maintenance of the facilities and grounds of both HQ and the Appleton plant.
5. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all plant and building equipment.
6. Develop and execute a preventative maintenance plan for existing and new equipment.
7. Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
8. Assist in developing and installing new equipment or plant expansion projects.
9. Lead small capital projects and improvements in both facilities.
10. Contact, direct, and promote the safety of contractors to perform inspections or maintenance work.
11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
12. Order and maintain spare parts inventory for both locations.

Responsible Care

Be aware of the relevant requirements of the Responsible Care Management System (RC-14001) and follow plant procedures to ensure compliance to requirements. Understand the RC-14001 Significant Aspects of your job and help ensure controls are in place to reduce or eliminate negative impacts. Minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve energy while performing job tasks. Contribute to continuous improvement of the environmental, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care performance and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

• Basic mechanical skills related to the use of hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of process control, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, LOTO, and industrial safety practices.
• Experience with steam systems, liquid transfer systems, pump repair, valve repair, and confined space entry.
• Previous electrical work experience is a plus.
• 5-7 years maintenance experience or educational equivalent.
• Current Wisconsin Driver’s license.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Computer skills and CMMS software experience.

QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED

• Ability to repair and install piping – welding experience is a plus.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PSM, ISO 9001, and other manufacturing best practices.
• Experience leading and executing small capital projects.
