Position Title

Encapsys Chemical Logistics Coordinator

Position Overview

The Chemical Logistics Coordinator II manages inventory control processes for materials at the Innovation Headquarters, including the Central Storeroom, Research Labs, and Pilot Capsule Plant. Responsibilities include procurement, stocking, dispensing, disposal, shipping, and receiving of chemicals and supplies, as well as overseeing the Chemical Waste Process and supervising the Central Storeroom Technician I.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective inventory control processes for the Innovation Headquarters facilities.
  2. Perform duties related to procurement, stocking, dispensing, disposing, shipping, and receiving chemicals and supplies efficiently.
  3. Administer the Chemical Management System, including Safety Data Sheet management and labeling, and conduct audits for compliance.
  4. Serve as the Chemical Management Location System Administrator.
  5. Monitor inventory levels, conduct physical inventories, and reconcile data within the chemical management system.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized chemical storage area.
  7. Coordinate with vendors regarding delivery, service, and lead-time issues.
  8. Manage shipping and receiving processes, including paperwork, packaging, labeling, and scheduling pickups.
  9. Ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and other chemical transportation regulations through training and certification.
  10. Manage hazardous waste labeling, disposal, and tracking, including oil waste management, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  11. Follow and promote the principles of the Responsible Care Management System (RC-14001), ensuring environmental, health, safety, and security standards are met and continuously improved.
Qualifications - Required
  • 3-4 years of experience in chemical handling and inventory management preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and demands.
  • Experience with Chemical and Inventory Management Systems preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, self-direction, and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to make timely, sound decisions.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Educational Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field is preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
