Job summary

Russell Standard in Reading, PA is seeking a Plant Operator to support the asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. The role focuses on day-to-day operations and production, including handling emulsion products and working with lab and sales personnel.

You will open/close valves, operate equipment, perform basic maintenance, and follow safety policies. The position requires teamwork, ability to lift 50 pounds, and flexibility for overtime in outdoor plant environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Solid math and reading skills and ability to understand technical manuals.
• Two years production/maintenance experience or oil/gas industry experience or completion of mechanical/industrial trade school program.
• Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes valves for product transfers.
• Performs general preventative maintenance of pump and valve systems.
• Operates equipment.
• Inspects tanks periodically.
• Troubleshoots mechanics of plant systems.
• Weighs trucks, pre- and post-loading.
• Loads emulsion trucks.
• General Labor.
• Follows all safety policies and practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
